Traveling down to Kokomo, IN on the back roads, taking a chance with a OLD nine (9) hole course @ $10 walking in 1.5 hour.
Built up on a hilly area, this 3,040yd / par 36 / 110 had some very nice small testy greens to hit into. Overall conditions were very playable and better than some paying twice the money. Had some blind driving holes with doglegs that I had to guess on (#8 is one) and ran into a few problems.
Very easy walking from hole to hole with a few hills, and I bet this old course has seen a lot of young players hone their skills here. Only played one ball this time and Shot 39 w/15 putts, having three (3) saves as coming up short causes very few problems here.
Good tune-up for Customer golf tomorrow at Eagle Creek / Sycamore in Indianapolis where tee shot position is needed. Good to walk and play some of the older narrow layouts sometimes to appreciate the wider/larger landing areas on today's newer tracks.
Would travel: 10-20 Miles, Not Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: Bargain priced based on quality and competitive area pricing, Fair priced based on quality and competitive area pricing
